Lebanon Housing Authority has made two significant changes in leadership in recent days.
The LHA board welcomed local preacher Patrick Johnson to replace retiring Director Henry Harding.
After a lengthy recruiting process, LHA offered Johnson the position – which he accepted on Friday. Although she did not mention numbers, Board Member Liz Reese said that he accepted the salary offered to him.
“We offered him a certain grade. We wanted to be comparable,” she said, adding that the starting salary was not as much as Harding, a longtime Housing Authority employee, earned.
“He is a very spiritual man who is committed to this community. We look forward to working with him and are so proud to have him,” Reese continued regarding Johnson. “We are excited about what is coming up.”
Johnson currently works as a preacher at Peyton Road Church of Christ.
This was not the only change that has taken place at LHA recently. Board Chairman Larry Hubbard announced Tuesday that he has resigned from his position.
When asked his reasons for stepping down, Hubbard simply said: “The board … their philosophy is different than mine.”
Taking the reins as Chairman will be Vice Chairman Ronnie Kelley. Kelley could not be reached for comment by press time.
