“It has cost us more to stay open each month but one this year than the donations received. In September, it cost us $4,000 more to stay open than donations received. We were able to continue to give food due to two nice donations last Christmas that carried us on. We can take $17 and give away $100 of food. Each family receives a large wheelbarrow of food. We are trying to raise $3,000 to be able to give 400 very special families a turkey for Thanksgiving,” said Brother Bob Evans, president of Love One Another Embassy. The Joseph Storehouse is a food ministry of LOAE.

“We have found favor with some food distributors donating food to us. We can bring the food in by the tractor truck loads. However, it is out of state on the Eastern Seaboard and Florida. Our main source cost $1,700 for the boxing, warehouse charge and freight for a tractor truck of food,” he said, adding “17 people giving $100 or 34 people giving $50 brings in a whole tractor trailer of food.

“We have to rent warehouse space across town from Joseph Storehouse. We run out of food boxed and ready to give away and have to turn people away. Yet we have food across town. We are wanting to build a 60-by-120 metal building behind Joseph Storehouse so we can have the food in one location to keep boxed to give away. It is very hard to turn away a family with children especially. We are an independent 501-C-3 ministry that is totally dependent on the community.”

Evans said he wanted to remind the volunteers to be here to fill boxes, Thursday to give food away and Saturday to pray with people and give food away. Joseph Storehouse is located at 1960 S.E. Tater Peeler Road, Lebanon.
