Lack of fluoride in Lebanon's water supply shocks reader
To the Editor:
I just saw the article on putting fluoride back in the Lebanon water supply in The Wilson Post on Wednesday, Jan. 13. Thank you for putting it on the front page.
I am shocked to know that our City does not provide it in our water supply. I personally believe this is a large issue that needs to be addressed by our city. My late husband was a Dentist in East Tennessee and he couldn’t say enough about how important it was that children drink water with fluoride. The statistics out there for the benefits are extremely hard to discount.
I am very curious to know why our City doesn’t and would love to hear the City’s statement regarding this issue. Is it a cost issue? Not ever been done issue? Ignorance issue? Please let me know if there is anything as a taxpayer I can do to help promote the City to use fluoride in our water.
Also, on a different issue I would love to see more articles on what our County plans on doing about building a NEW High School it seems to have been swept under the rug for the time being (election day). Overcrowding in our schools is a HUGE issue, as well as needing a completely new County Commission.
