Lady Bears win 9AAA crown

DISTRICT 9AAA FINALS
LEBANON --
Senior post Caya Williams poured in 24 points Monday night to lead Mt. Juliet to a 57-32 win over Station Camp in the finals of the District 9AAA basketball tournament at Wilson Central High.

The Lady Bears (29-3) will host Kenwood, the No. 4 team from District 10AAA, in the first round of the regional tournament Friday at 7 p.m.

Mt. Juliet led Station Camp 30-18 and never looked back. Paige Baugher had 10 points, including a pair of 3-pointers for Mt. Juliet while ninth grader Jamasha Jackson added nine.

Cheyenne North led Station Camp 18-11 with 11 points. SCHS will host Dickson County Friday at 7 p.m.

DISTRICT 9AAA CONSOLATION
LEBANON -- Alex Banks scored 15 points as Beech defeated Wilson Central 45-38 in the District 9AAA consolation game Monday night.

Beech (19-12) will play at the No. 2 seed from District 10AAA in the first round of the Region 5AAA tournament. Wilson Central (18-9) will travel to the No. 1 seed and undefeated Clarksville High Friday for a 7 p.m. game.

McKenna Taylor had 13 points for the Lady Bucs while Falon Baker added 11. Sydney Vanlandingham led Wilson Central with 14 points, Taylor Peterson had 11.

DISTRICT 8A CONSOLATION
LAFAYETTE -- Red Boiling Springs defeated Watertown High 48-35 Monday night in the District 8A consolation game at Macon County High.

Morgan Burgener was one of three RBS players in double figures with 15 points.

Senior Hailey Speck hit three 3-pointers and led the Tigerettes with 12 points. Morgan Gartner added nine.

Watertown (18-13) will play on the road against Jackson County, the No. 1 team from District 7A, in the first round of the Region 4A tournament. The game is set for 7 p.m. Friday in Gainesboro.
