LEBANON -- The Cumberland University women’s basketball team will transform Phillips Dining Hall into a Vegas-style casino – complete with food, games and an auction – for a unique and fun fundraising event Saturday, Sept. 27.
‘Casino Night’ will help raise funds for the team’s December trip to the Las Vegas Shoot-Out, an eight-team tournament to be held at Las Vegas’ Desert Oasis High School, Dec. 28-30.
In addition to the Lady Bulldogs, teams participating in the tournament include 2008 National Champions Vanguard University, California Baptist, Madonna University, Cal-Maritime Academy, University of Great Falls, Mount Mary College and Bethany College.
"It’s going to be a really fun event," CU coach Clint Mason said. "We hope to see everyone come out, have a good time and support the Lady Bulldogs in the process. The Las Vegas Shoot-Out represents a great opportunity for these young women to go out west and represent Cumberland and to compete against some high-caliber opponents."
At the end of the event, guests will turn in any raffle tickets won via the casino-style games for prize drawings.
The grand prize is trip for two to Las Vegas with the Lady Bulldogs – the grand prize includes airline tickets and six-nights lodging at The Westin Casuarina Las Vegas Hotel, Casino & Spa.
Tickets for Casino Night are $100 per couple. To purchase tickets for Casino Night or to contribute auction items, contact Coach Mason at (615) 547-1319 or (615) 389-1397.
