MT. JULIET -- Lebanon took advantage of three Mt. Juliet fumbles Friday night and rolled to a 41-21 victory over the Golden Bears.

The Blue Devils (2-3) led 27-0 early in the second quarter en route to the victory — the 15th against the Bears since the series was renewed back in 1977.

Tailback Jacob Maynard roared for 151 yards on 23 carries and four touchdowns. His brother QB Matthew Maynard also went over the century mark with 109 yards on 16 attempts and added a TD.

Lebanon will be on the road at Riverdale High Friday, Oct. 3 while Mt. Juliet will host Region 6, 4A rival Rossview High.

GLADEVILLE -- Wilson Central scored early and often Friday night and ripped visiting Coffee County 49-14 for homecoming.

The Wildcats ran the ball 31 times for 224 yards and six touchdowns, spreading around the love with nine Wildcat rushers tallying positive yardage, including three freshmen. The most impressive frosh being 5’8" Dee Williams who carried the ball seven times for 51 yards.

The Wildcats will be on the road Oct. 3 as they travel to Blackman High School.

CORNERSVILLE -- A 21-point outburst in the second quarter helped lift Cornersville High to a 35-17 victory Friday night over Mt. Juliet Christian Academy.

The Saints slid to 1-4 with the loss while the Bulldogs upped their 2008 worksheet to 2-3 overall.

Taylor Rogers started the Bulldogs off in fine fashion with a 52-yard run from scrimmage for the first score of the game. Rogers scored later in the game on a 65 yard run. Josh Polly threw for 104 yards including two scores — both to Brent Pope.

MJCA quarterback Chris Frazier completed 12-of-29 passes for 155 yards and one touchdown. He also threw one interception.

Zack Orr caught seven passes for 84 yards and Trey McNeill caught three balls for 26 yards. McNeill also ran seven times for 19 yards and Stephen Hughes rushed nine times for a net of eight yards.

MJCA will host Red Boiling Springs Oct. 3.
