Lebanon's Devilettes picked up a pair of basketball wins over the weekend -- downing Franklin 51-33 at Campbell Brandon Gym Saturday and drilling Hendersonville 61-40 on the road Friday.
On Saturday, Dec. 11, LHS outscored their guests 13-4 in the third period to break open five-point game at intermission. Senior Marissa Jennings led the way with 23 points while Julia Fox chopped in with 12. Victoria Dye had seven and Malika Anderson three.
On Friday, Fox drilled six 3-pointers for 18 points and Jennings added 17. Dye had eight points, including a pair of 3-pointers.
Coach Larry Inman's team improved to 7-2 overall with the victories and stands 1-1 in District 9AAA. The Devilettes are idle until Dec. 28 when the squad ventures hits the road to play at Anderson County High in a girls-only contest.
The Blue Devils split their weekend contests, defeating Franklin 86-82 on Saturday, some 24 hours after losing 64-50 at Hendersonville on Friday. Junior post man Cameron High was nearly unstoppable Saturday, scoring 34 points and pulling in 11 rebounds.
Soph Brandon Fox and senior Hunter Christian alternated dropping in long 3-pointers as Fox finished with 15 and Christian added 13 with 11 assists. On Friday, High had yet another double-double with 29 points and 11 rebounds, but no other Blue Devils reached double figures.
Standing 2-6 overall and 0-2 in 9AAA, Lebanon returns to action Monday, Dec. 20 as the Blue Devils travel to Clarksville to play in the Northwest Classic.
