The Lebanon team will play Smoky Mountain tonight at 8 p.m. in the last of four games on the docket. A ceremony dedicating the 2012 state tournament to the memory of longtime Lions Club member and league Jimmy Carter Martin is planned just before Lebanon takes the field.
Action begins at 12 Noon as Sparta takes on Manchester followed by Marshall County vs. Franklin County at 2:30 p.m. Lawrenceburg will battle Johnson City at 5:30 p.m. followed by the Lebanon - Smoky Mountain nightcap.
Losers bracket games are set for 12 Noon and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday while Fridays winners will play at 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. Tournament finals are scheduled for Monday.
Admission is $5 per person; ages 12-5 are $2; five and under admitted free.
Babe Ruth 14s play in PulaskiThe Lebanon Lions Club Babe Ruth 14 year-old all-stars will open state tournament play this (Friday) afternoon vs. Marshall County in Pulaski.
The winner of the Lebanon - Marshall County game will play Johnson City Saturday at 12 Noon. The seven team tournament continues through Tuesday.
Lebanon went 2-2 in last weeks District 4 tournament in McMinnville, falling to Fentress County (Jamestown) in the finals 9-8 Sunday, July 15.
Lebanon lost its tournament opener to Cookeville 9-6, then reeled off victories over Warren County 7-0 and Cookeville 13-12.
