Four Wilson County basketball programs are returning to their respective district schedules Friday night.
Mt. Juliet High will entertain District 9-AAA rival Beech tonight at 6:30 p.m. while Lebanon plays at Station Camp and Wilson Central visits Gallatin.
Watertown High will be on the road for a District 8-A doubleheader at Goodpasture Christian School in Madison.
Mt. Juliet Christian Academy will wait until Monday, Jan,. 6 to host Eagleville High School.
Friendship Christian School won’t get back into the swing of things until a Tuesday, Jan. 7 doubleheader at Centennial High in Williamson County.
WCHS girls fall in OT
GREENEVILLE -- Wilson Central’s Lady Wildcats were outscored 6-0 in overtime of Tuesday afternoon’s 64-58 loss to Shelbyville Central in the consolation bracket of the 25th annual LandAir Ladies’ Classic at Hal Hernard Gym.
Coach Bud Brandon’s team slipped to 9-4 with the loss while the Eaglettes improved to 10-7.
A layup by Central's Dominique St. Louis with 16 seconds left tied the score at 58-58 and Shelbyville had two shots to win in regulation -- but missed. The contest, tight from the opening tip, featured seven lead changes.
Wilson Central's Kendall Spray knocked down six 3-pointers on her way to 22 points and dished out five assists, while St. Louis had 20 points from the post.
Morristown West (14-2) was crowned tournament champs with a 61-51 victory over Archer High of Lawrenceville, Ga. in Tuesday night's finals.
On Monday, Wilson Central shattered the LandAir Ladies’ Classic record for 3-pointers in a single game by gunning in 15 in a 66-39 win over North Greene.
Wilson Central hit the first five 3-pointers they attempted and they were off and running to a 23-8 lead in the opening eight minutes.
The Lady Wildcats expanded the advantage by 37-20 at intermission. Three WCHS players - Kendall Spray, Kayla Jackson and Rachel Burkett - each connected on four long jumpers. Spray led the way with 16 points, Jackson scored 14 and Burkett netted 12. Hailey Averitt hit double figures with 10 points.
Tigerettes thump GHS
WATERTOWN -- Alicia Jennings scored 15 points and Shelby Mofield added 14 as Watertown’s Tigerettes blitzed Gordonsville High 61-41 Saturday, Dec. 8 in the fifth place game of the Watertown Christmas Tournament.
Coach Lane Price saw his team improve to 10-5 with the victory.
On Thursday, WHS hammered Trousdale County 76-21 as Jennings had 25 points.

COLUMBIA -- Friendship Christian’s Lady Commanders improved to 3-6 on the season after a 52-30 win over host Columbia Academy Saturday, Dec. 28 at the CA Christmas Classic -- held at Anderson Fieldhouse.
On Friday, FCS dropped a 65-44 loss to Middle Tennessee Christian School.
Three Lady Commanders scored in double figures -- led by 14 from Ashlyn Pittman, 11 from Taylor Patterson and 10 points from Abby Hinton.

COLUMBIA -- Friendship Christian’s boys slipped to 0-8 on the season following an 84-52 loss to Columbia Academy Saturday, Dec. 28 in the CA Christmas Classic. Zach Blair led the Commanders with 17 points.
