LHS, CENTRAL & FCS POST WINS
COOKEVILLE -- Lebanon High exploded for 19 hits Tuesday night in a 12-3 victory at District 7AAA rival Cookeville. The Blue Devils of Coach Tracy Slone will play the Cavs in a 6:30 p.m. game tonight (Wednesday) at Veterans Field in the Baird Park Complex.
LHS improved to 12-3 overall / 7-0 in the district with the win.
Senior Craig Gann picked up the decision with a complete game five hitter. Gann struck out six and walked two Cookeville batters.
Shortstop Daniel Harrison had three hits, catcher Dexter Cross drove in three runs with a triple and a double while Brent Morris drove in two runs with a pair of hits.
WC 5, GALLATIN 3 -- Wilson Central improved to 9-4 overall and 4-2 in District 9AAA Tuesday night with a 5-3 victory at Gallatin.
Jessie Snodgrass got the win with 5 2/3 innings of work, striking out nine and scattering four hits.
Brad Collins had two RBI and Cody Liddle had a pair of hits. Central will host Gallatin Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Gladeville.
FCS 8, TROUSDALE CO. 5 -- Friendship Christian posted a come-from-behind 8-5 win over visiting Trousdale County High Tuesday afternoon. The Commanders upped their record to 5-0 in District 8A and 9-5 overall.
Adjusting nicely to his new home at second base, junior Lee Maasen had three hits including a homer and a double.
Shortstop Mitch Miller added a two-run home run as the Commanders scored five times in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Travor Bowles scattered eight hits and struck out four to gain the pitching decision. Jordan Dennis picked up the save with two innings of work.
FCS hits the road Thursday to play in the Yellow Jacket Classic at Dalton, GA. The Commanders will open up with Gordon Lee High in Thursday’s opener.
