Wild game dinner -- World champion game caller and co-founder of Harvest Outdoors Ministries Jon Paul Moody will be the featured speaker at the annual wild game dinner sponsored by First Baptist Church, Lebanon.
Planned Saturday, April 26 at Chambers’ Fellowship Lake just off Tater Peeler Road, the fun will get underway at 12 Noon with fishing, followed by dinner at 5 p.m. Entrants in the cooking contest should have their dishes on site by 4:15 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for the best wild game dish. Old time gospel and bluegrass music will be provided by The Huddleston Family. No admission will be charged, however a love offering will be collected. For information, call Chris Meeks at 585-4121.
WJH Purple-White game -- Watertown Junior High will stage a Purple - White football scrimmage to mark the end of spring practice Friday, May 9. The game will be held at Robinson Stadium on the campus of Watertown High at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students with all proceeds going to the junior high football program.
Mt. Olivet youth tourney -- The Youth Group at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church will benefit from a golf tournament planned Saturday, May 17 at the Windtree Golf Course in Mt. Juliet. Entry fee is $400 per team for the 4-man scramble; $125 per individual or $75 for players age 65 and over. Green fees, cart, range balls, beverages, lunch, participation gift, a buffet dinner, silent auction and awards ceremony are included with entry fee. Registration will close Friday, May 2. Doubles tennis -- The Wilson County Community Tennis Association will hold round-robin doubles for adult men and women Sunday, April 27 at the Cumberland University tennis courts. Play will begin at 2 p.m. Advanced players under 18 are welcome. For information, go to: www.wcctatennis.com.
MJ girls basketball camp -- The Mt. Juliet Lady Bears basketball program will hold a camp for girls in grades 2-8 June 2-5 at the Tommy Martin Gym (The Cave) between the hours of 8 - 11:30 a.m. Applications can be picked up at the high school Monday throught Friday. Two-man scramble at HP -- Hunters Point Golf Club will hold its annual Two-Man Scramble the weekend of June 28 and 29 at the par 72, 6573 yard public course. Entry fee is $220 per team (if paid by June 27) which includes a practice round. Carts are not included. Prizes will be based on an average of 13 teams per flights.
