Local sports in brief

Chili supper set Feb. 13 -- The Devilettes Fastpitch Club will be hosting its annual chili Supper Saturday, Feb. 13 at the Westland United Methodist Church.  Proceeds will go to the Lebanon High softball team. A silent auction and cornhole tournament will also be held that evening. Admission is $5. Tickets may be purchased from any member of the team or at the door  the night of the event. LYSA sign-ups Feb. 13 -- Lebanon Youth Soccer Association sign-ups will be held Saturday, Feb. 13, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the LYSA soccer complex 806 Castle Heights Ave.  Coaches will get their teams no later than the first week of March. The season will run from April 10 through May 22. Another sign-up will be held at Dick’s Sporting Goods at Providence Place, Mt. Juliet  Feb. 20 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Dick’s will be offering discount coupons at time of sign-ups for anyone signed up with Lebanon soccer

Watertown baseball sign-ups -- Sign-ups for the 2010 Watertown Community League’s baseball season will be held Saturday, Feb. 13 from 8 a.m. - 12 Noon at the Watertown Community Center. A second sign-up date is planned Saturday, Feb. 20 from 12 Noon until 4 p.m. -- also at the Community Center.

LGSA 2010 sign-ups -- Sign-ups for the 2010 season of the Lebanon Girls Softball Association season will be held between the hours of 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13 at the LGSA clubhouse in the Baird Park Complex. The league is for girls ages 5-13. For more information call Kenny Black at 330-8983.

FBC basketball camp -- Lebanon’s First Baptist Church will be the site of a President’s Day basketball camp for boys and girls in grades K-7, Monday, Feb. 15. Grades K-4 from 8 a.m. - 12 Noon with an emphasis on dribbling skills. Campers in grades 5-7 will work out 1-5 p.m. and will focus on 1-on-1 offensive skills. Cost is $30 per camper. In person registration will be held at the church office Monday- Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. For info, call 615-417-4510. Your spot is reserved when payment is received.

Rotary / Dixie baseball -- Sign-ups have begun for the spring baseball league. To sign up, just go online at lebanonrotarybaseball.com or call Debbie at 453-6821. To be eligible to play, players must be between 9 to 12 years of age as of April 30, 2010. There is no charge to play. Tryouts will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at the Lebanon Rotary baseball fields located in the Baird Park Complex. Returning players moving up and new registrants will need to tryout. Space is limited and will be on the first signup basis.

Kiwanis sign-ups set Feb. 20 -- Kiwanis Little League will hold sign-ups Saturday, Feb. 20 in the cafeteria of Coles Ferry Elementary School, 511 Coles Ferry Pike, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. All children zoned to Lebanon Special Schools District, Carroll-Oakland, Southside, Tuckers Crossroads and Watertown who will be at least 8 years old but not more than 12 years old in April are eligible to play (eligible birth dates are May, 1997 through April, 2002). There is no charge for participation in the league. Children playing on Major League teams last year do not need to sign-up. For information call, Daniel Harp, 449-8788.

Monday night volleyball -- Cumberland’s Dallas Floyd Center will the site of a Monday Night Girl's Volleyball League set to open March 22. Cost is $60 per player. Lions Babe Ruth sign-ups -- Lebanon Lions Club Babe Ruth baseball will hold sign-ups 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27 at the Greer Building in the Baird Park Complex for the 2010 season. The league is for boys ages 13-15 as of May 1, 2010. There is no charge to play in this league. For information, call David McKinney at 444-1113.
