Canned food drive at CU -- Cumberland University athletics is sponsoring a canned food drive for Saturday’s home football game between the No. 20-ranked Bulldogs and Union at Lindsey Donnell Stadium. Anyone who brings a canned or non-perishable food item to the game will receive $2 off the admission price. Kickoff is set for 12 Noon. All food collected will go to Joseph’s Storehouse here in Lebanon.

Fifth Quarter at FBC -- First Baptist Church in downtown Lebanon will be hosting a "Fifth Quarter" for athletes, coaches, students, and fans of area high schools Friday, October 29 from 9:30 p.m. - 12:30 a.m. The event will be held at "The Rock" - the church's newly renovated multi-purpose building located behind the Wilson County Election Commission. LHS baseball dinner -- Lebanon High’s baseball team will hold its annual Alumni Dinner / Auction 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13 at Castle Heights Upper Elementary School. Tickets are $10 per person, $5 for any former Blue Devil baseball player. Pitcher Jeff Bennett of the Milwaukee Brewers organization will be the keynote speaker. LHS Sports Hall of Fame -- Lebanon High School is now accepting nominations for the Class of 2010 Sports Hall of Fame. Nominations must be made in writing and include full justification for the nomination, including statistics, honors, awards, and any other pertinent information pertaining to the nominee. Nominations will be accepted until Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010.

LHS 3-on-3 tourney -- Basketball players of all ages are invited to participate in Lebanon High’s ‘throw down’ 3-on-3 hoops tournament Friday and Saturday, Nov. 5 - 6. Early registration is being accepted until 3:30 p.m. Oct. 22. Anyone who registers by this date will be assured of a t-shirts for the team. Entry fee will be $60 per four-person team with brackets determined by age. For more information, call Coach Keil at 812-5444 or Coach J.D. Douglas at 931-624-0967. Proceeds will benefit Blue Devil basketball.

Gladeville turkey shoot -- The annual Gladeville Community Center Turkey Shoot will be held Nov. 7, 14 and 21; Dec. 5 and 12 beginning at 12 Noon. For more information, call Earl Ray at 604-5735 or Tommy Knowles at 443-4522.
