Vipers AAU basketball
The Lebanon Vipers AAU Basketball Team will hold tryouts Sunday, Jan. 12 at Walter J. Baird Middle School. The team is for current sixth and seventh grade boys. Tryouts will be begin at 2 p.m. Call Eric Lawrence at 613-6568.
Lions Club Babe Ruth
The Lebanon Lions Club Babe Ruth baseball league will hold a meeting for potential managers and coaches Thursday evening, Jan. 9. The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. at the Public Square offices of the Lebanon / Wilson County Chamber of Commerce. Plans for the 2014 season include a separate league for 13s. LGSA signups will be Jan. 11 and Jan. 25 between the hours of 9 a.m.-12 Noon at the league clubhouse in Baird Park for girls ages 4-14. Online registration is currently available at www.lebanongirlssoftball.com. Call Wayne Oakley at 305-4590 for information.
WJB cheer clinic
LEBANON -- The Walter J. Baird cheerleaders will host a cheer clinic 3:30 - 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11 in the WJB gym. Students in kindergarten through eighth grade are invited to learn stunts, jumps, chants, and a superhero themed dance routine. All participants are also invited to perform between games of the WJB basketball game on Saturday, Jan. 16. Clinic participants will be admitted to the game free of charge and will receive a superhero t-shirt for the night’s performance. Clinic donations are $25. Snacks will be provided at the clinic. MJHS baseball one-day camp set
Mt. Juliet High baseball will host its annual one-day winter baseball training camp Sunday, Jan. 26 for athletes in grades 2 through 8. Check-in will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the Mt. Juliet High cafeteria with camp activites planned 1-5 p.m. The camp, under the direction of Golden Bear head coach Jim Carter, will cover fundamentals of pitching, hitting, defense, base running and game situations. Cost is $40 per camper. Checks should be made payable to MJHS baseball. Campers who register before Jan. 16 will receive a t-shirt.
Campers should wear t-shirt, sweats, cap, bring one glove, one bat, turfs or sneakers. No cleats will be allowed. For more information, contact Lisa Smith at email@example.com.
