Lions Club Babe Ruth Baseball
Tryouts and sign-ups for the 2014 season of Babe Ruth Baseball in Lebanon will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1 at Eskew Field in the Baird Park Complex. Players aged 13-16 should come prepared to play with proper attire -- cap, glove, cleated shoes and baseball pants. Bats and balls will be provided. There is no cost to play, however players must provide a copy of their birth certificate before they are assigned to a team. Plans this year call for the 13-year olds to play in their own league. Players age 14 through 16 will play in a separate league. For information, please call David McKinney at 210-1868.

NWTF banquet set Feb. 28
The Cedar Roost Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation will be having the annual Hunter's Heritage Banquet Friday, Feb. 28 at The Mill in Lebanon. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and everything kicks off at 7 p.m. Meal is catered by Sammy B's with entertainment by Randal Haley. City of Lebanon tee-ball
Registration for City of Lebanon Parks & Recreation tee-ball (4 and 5 year olds) is currently under way at the Harold Dean Greer Building, 416 Park Circle, in the Baird Park Complex. Sign-up days are planned 9-11
a.m. Saturday, March 1 at the Greer Building. Children must be four years of age on or before April 30, 2014 and not six on or before April 30, 2014 in order to participate. Practices will not begin until the middle of March and games will not start until the first week of May. Registration fee is $40 (plus a $2 convenience fee online registration). Cops vs. lawyers benefit hoops
A benefit basketball game between officers of the Lebanon Police Department (the Peace Keepers) and local attorneys (Legal Eagles), will be held at 12 Noon, Saturday, March 1 at Castle Heights Elementary School honoring Bobby "Pirate Bob" Harris. Tickets are $5. Concessions will be available. All proceeds will go directly to the family of Harris, a former Castle Heights Elementary student who is battling a brain tumor.

Monday night volleyball
Cumberland University Volleyball Coach Dwayne Deering is now accepting applications for the Monday Night Girls Volleyball League. League play begins Monday, March 17 at the Dallas Floyd Recreation Center and continues every Monday night until April 21. Plans call for an ‘18 and under’ division and a ‘14 and under’ division. Coaches are urged to enter a team in the league as soon as possible; but players may also join the league as an individual and will be placed on a team. Cost is $75 per player.
