The Shamrock Society is a group of men who gather once a week for “Guy’s Night” to simply bond, slow down and share their experiences from the previous week’s busy schedule. The men are an eclectic group consisting of various professions and various skills in hosting the event. The event wouldn’t be a success without the hard work, determination and organization of the beautiful women associated with each of the men of “Guy’s Night.”
In addition to raising money through ticket sales, the Low Country Boil will also have a Live and Silent auction that will take place after dinner.
The following is a list of some items up for auction at the 2009 Low Country Boil:• Official "Vince Young" autographed chrome Reebok cleats • Official Titans autographed footballs • An original "Shamrock Santa" painting by local artist R. Scott Harris • Trips to Canada, Granville and Cordell Hull Lake...just to name a few!
Live music for the evening will be provided by "Knob Creek Bluegrass Band" and "Andy DeFalco and The Joe Locasto Band" with DJ David Hale spinning your favorite dance tunes throughout the evening.
There will also be a sky lantern ceremony when night falls. According to popular Chinese lore, sky lanterns are used to release worry and problems and used to honor loved ones. It is considered good luck to release sky lanterns into the air. This year, sky lanterns will be available for $10 each to release in honor or in memory of loved ones. This is truly going to be a special event and one not to be missed, organizers said. Visit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0iuatvrv_o&feature=related to see a sky lantern ceremony take place
The “Low Country Boil” originated seven years ago when one of the members had a very close family member diagnosed with breast cancer, at a very young age. This sparked an idea with one of the men that with all the combined talents and resources of such a diverse group that surely they could work together and make a difference. Along with the help of their fabulous wives, the men of The Shamrock Society began the “Low County Boil.”
