The Lebanon Special School District would like to invite all their families to participate in a new recycling venture. Our goal is to collect new and gently used toys and books at Coles Ferry Elementary and distribute them to families in our school district community just in time for Christmas.
“It’s a great way to participate in the holiday season and will benefit many local worthy families,” said Tracey O’Hanlon, . “Involve your children to share the spirit of the holidays and the joy of giving with them.”
LSSD is accepting new and gently used unwrapped toys and books suitable for all ages. Please clean and suitably package these items. If the items include small pieces, please store in a Ziploc bag inside the box.
“In addition to the toys and books, we request school supplies, as many families are unable to replenish these items,” O’Hanlon said. “As an added request, batteries would be especially helpful for the toys we receive.”
The items can be dropped off at the front lobby at Coles Ferry Elementary School. Items will be collected from November 30 through December 4.
Distribution of the toys will be on Saturday, December 5, from noon-2 p.m. Parents or guardians can collect toys from the gymnasium at Coles Ferry Elementary located at the rear of the school.
If anyone would like to benefit from this event or know of a worthy family, please contact your child’s teacher or call Tracey O’Hanlon at 547-1579 or email her at email@example.com for further information. To ensure even distribution of items, please help the officials estimate the number of participating children/families by providing the ages and sex of each child.
Anyone who would like to volunteer for an hour or two during the week of collection or December 5 to help can contact O’Hanlon.
