LEBANON -- Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, May 20 at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home, 241 W. Main Street, for Mr. Hackney, 85, of Lebanon.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the Maple Hill Church of Christ, he died Tuesday, May 18, 2010.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home.
Services will be conducted by Brother Wayne Miller and Brother Myron Keith. Interment with military honors will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include: sisters Mary (George) Goodall of Mt. Juliet and Glenna (Mac) McKinney of Murfreesboro; sisters-in-law Donna Rhea Hackney of Mt. Juliet, Gladys Hackney and Allie B. Hackney -- both of Murfreesboro and Ola Mai Hackney of Lebanon.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews; as well as special friend Debbie (Johnny) Mitchell of Lebanon.
Mr. Hackney was preceded in death by parents Virgil C. and Cora White Hackney, his wife Anne Hackney along with six brothers and six sisters.
Active pallbearers: Mike Goodall, Van Goodall, Tim McKinney, Graham Hackney, Aaron Hackney, Johnny Mitchell, Gary Doebler and Tim Edwards. Honorary: Wayne Hackney, Don Simpson, Billy Conatser and Jim Hailey.
