Mrs. Bond passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Memorial Hospital of Belleville, IL at the age of 94.
Two Celebrations of Life and Love will be held Saturday, March 15 and Sunday, March 16.
Saturday's services will be held at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 612 Washington Place, East St. Louis, IL. Family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m., with funeral to follow. Rev. Cornell Brown will be the eulogist.
Sunday's service will be held at Oakview Missionary Baptist church, 1201 Winfield Lane, Brownsville in Haywood County. Family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m., with funeral to follow. Rev. David Ricks will preside.
Those who will miss her most are her five devoted children: Versie Gayden, Chicago, IL; Ollie Beverly, East St. Louis, IL,; Thomas (Arnie) Bond, St. Louis, MO; Elois (Connell) Outlaw, Hendersonville and Lonnell (Debra) Bond, Sr., St. Louis, MO.
Also surviving: devoted sister Jo Anna Hellum, Lebanon; two devoted brothers Arthur Young, Decatur, IL, Fred (Dorothy) Young, Milwaukee, WI; two devoted sisters-in-law Ruby D. Young of Decatur, IL and Lee Oper Young of Brownsville; 27 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Daughter Lue Vern Johnson and siblings Lue Bertha Hawkins, Mack Young, Charlie Young and Frank Young preceded her in death.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to J.C. Hellum Funeral Home, 107 Stokes St., Lebanon.
