PLEASANT VIEW -- Memorial services were held Sunday afternoon, May 30 in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home for Mr. Shaw, 35, of Pleasant View and formerly of Mt. Juliet.
Born in Dubois, PA, he died May, 27, 2010 at Northcrest Medical Center in Springfield following an automobile accident.
A teacher and football coach at Sycamore High School and founder of the Middle Tennessee Football League, he also coached at Mt. Juliet High.
Coach Shaw was graduate of Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania and later earned his masters degree from Ball State University in Indiana.
Services were conducted by Coach Matt Taylor and Coach Gary Halstead.
Survivors include: father Phillip Shaw and mother Debbie Shaw and brother Eric (Jodi) Shaw -- all of Phillipsburg, PA; as well as a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Alvin and Alma Shaw and Edgar and Dorothy Scharrs.
Honorary pallbearers included: Gordon Schnarrs, Wes Proctor, Matt Taylor, Jack Littlejohn, Danny Boner, Gary Halstead, Doug Hungate, Daniel Smiley, Mike Raymer, current and former players of the Sycamore High football team and former players of the Mt. Juliet High football team. 
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Mike Shaw Scholarship Fund, in care of Sycamore High School, 1021 Old Clarksville Pike, Pleasant View, 37146.
Austin & Bell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
