Minerva Bone Bassett, 94

JACKSONVILLE, TX -- A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 31 at the City Cemetery in Jacksonville for Mrs. Bassett, 94, of Tyler, TX. Born May 17, 1915, in Jacksonville, TX to the late Dr. John N. and Roxie Brasfield Bone, she died Mar. 27, 2010.

She earned a B. A. degree with honors from Cumberland University, Lebanon. Married to the late William Kerr Bassett on January 14, 1939, in Berkeley, CA, she has made her home in San Francisco, Ca, Washington D.C.; Long Beach, CA, Alexandria, VA and Bethesda, MD.

Survivors include: sons William Kerr Bassett II of Castalian Springs and John Bone (Carla) Bassett of Newark, DE; granddaughters Jennifer Bassett (Rick) Rudzinski of Castalian Springs, Deborah Bassett (Christian) Parrish of Bowling Green, KY and Miriam (Wayne) Scherer Benton, PA; great grandchildren Kyle Burk Rudzinski and Jacquelyn Rachel Scherer.  Also surviving are siblings Dr. Robert (Marsha) Bone of Emerald Bay, TX, Mrs. Frances (Robert) Urban of Tyler, TX; and Dr. Mary Alice Bone (Judge John Robert) Adamson of Jacksonville, TX along with many nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband William Kerr Bassett, sisters Mrs. Alma Ruth Beall and Mrs. Kathryn Chatfield.
