Lebanon High will host Mt. Juliet Friday night in a District 9AAA contest at Campbell Brandon Gym. Live radio coverage can he heard on WANT FM-98.9 beginning with a 6:15 p.m. pregame show.
The Blue Devils of Coach Jim McDowell enter the contest 8-11 overall and 4-3 in the district following Wednesdays 61-49 victory at Portland.
Ninth grade post player Yalen Reed had his most productive night of the season with 24 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots. Zach Santana added 10 points and Zimmer Hunn pitched in nine.
The Golden Bears are coming off a hard-fought 45-41 win at Wilson Central Wednesday. Nolan Chowbay came off the bench for 18 points to lead the Bears while John Mark Bell added 15. Mt. Juliet improved to 9-9 overall, 4-3 in the league.
Wilson Central, now 14-4 overall and 5-2 in 9AAA, was led by 21 points from Jacob Williams. Ben Palmer had six points for WCHS in the loss and Blake Huffman added five. The Wildcats will play at District 9AAA leader Hendersonville on Friday.
Ezell Harding 89, MJ Christian 36
ANTIOCH -- Ezell-Harding took a 26-7 first quarter lead and went on to bury Mt. Juliet Christian Academy 89-36 Wednesday in a Division II District 1-A contest. The Eagles saw four players break double figures, led by 21 points from Will Smith.
MJCA was led by 14 points from Trevor West and 11 from Zack Jones. The Saints, now 5-11 overall and 0-5 in the district, are idle this weekend -- but will host Trousdale County High in a 6 p.m. doubleheader Tuesday, Jan. 22.
