Nashville Symphony returns to CU in June

By JENNIFER HORTONThe Wilson PostMark your calendars for the annual Symphony on the Lawn event to be held Tuesday, June 15 on the campus of Cumberland University in Lebanon.The Nashville Symphony returns with another exciting program, and this year, the performance is free, courtesy of Regions Bank, said Dottie Allen, a member of the Cumberland University Fine Arts Council, or CUFAC.The Symphony is offering “Regions Free Days” through Regions Bank which provides free admission to the orchestra’s summer concerts in the area, including Crocket Park in Brentwood, Key Park in Lafayette, East Park and Centennial Park in Nashville.Pre-entertainment will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will end at 6:30. The Nashville Symphony will then perform at 7.Bring your chairs or blankets, bring a picnic supper, if you like, and of course there will be vendors on hand with food available for purchase.In addition to Regions Bank, Allen noted that the Cracker Barrel Foundation has also long supported the event.CUFAC, she said, “is grateful to Cracker Barrel Foundation and Regions Bank for their continued support through the years.”Editor Jennifer Horton may be contacted at
