O’Nell said the video promoted the reciprocal, loving relationship between pets and their owners and said the video really showed the joy the kitten brought to its adoptive family.

The finalists for the award were chosen based on their video’s creative content and direct connection to the mission of “Tales for the Pet Lover’s Heart”, which celebrates the unique bond between people and their pets.

“We were thrilled to be selected to participate in the contest,” O’Nell said. “To have this level of support really helps our day-to-day operation,” she added, in reference to the donation.

New Leash on Life is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the welfare of animals through shelter, placement, spay/neuter, education and awareness. O’Nell said New Leash on Life is dependent upon grants and donations to sustain its commitment and the nominal fees they charge are not enough to support their costs.

“This award helps us take care of the animals that come under our custody,” O’Nell said.

For more information you may contact New Leash on Life at 444-1144 and ask about volunteer opportunities or adoption of a pet. You can also fill out a volunteer application online at www.newleashonline.org.
