MT. JULIET -- Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 23 at the Rutkand Baptist Church for Mr. Clemmons, 70, of Lebanon.
Known as "Pops" to his family, he died April 16, 2008 at his residence.
Pastor Damond E. Bragg, served as eulogist. Intement at the Rutland Cemetery.
Survivors include children Valeria R. Clemmons of Antioch, Debra A. Smith of LaVergne, Walter R. Clemmons Jr., Nolensville, Shelia Tate-McMahon, Elder Tony C. (Vickie) Clemmons and Anthony S. Clemmons -- all of Nashville and Maurice Searcy, Hermitage.
Also surviving is brother William (Carolyn) Clemmons; step-brothers, Warren (Peggy) Carter, Marcus Carter and Curtis (Norma) Carter; step-sisters, LaUna Ewin, Marshall Thompson and Anita (Mose) Payne; daughter-in-law, Nanette Clemmons; sisters-in-law, Annie and Minnie Clemmons -- both of Mt. Juliet; 16 great grandchildren; 10 nieces; 7 nephews; devoted friend, David H. Carter and a host of other relatives and friends.
JC Hellum Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
