Area third through sixth grade students will be competing at the third annual Cumberland Olympic Games on Wednesday, April 30. The festivities kick off at 9 a.m. in Cumberland University’s Dallas Floyd Gymnasium with a few words from David Griffin of NBC’s “Biggest Loser.” Commissioner Susan Cooper, Tennessee Department of Health, and members of the GetFitTN team will address the athletes and lead them in a fun warm up activity. At approximately 9:30 a.m., the games will begin. The events will take place in the gym, outside at the main quad, and Lindsey Donnell Stadium. Students will rotate to all three venues throughout the day to compete in all of the events. The Coordinated School Health staff from Wilson County School District and the Lebanon Special School District has worked tirelessly with Cumberland’s School of Education to organize this annual event.
