LEBANON -- Cumberland's baseball Bulldogs closed out the TranSouth Conference schedule by taking two-of-three from Freed-Hardeman Thursday and Friday at Stockton Field.

The Bulldogs finished the regular season 36-19 overall and 15-10 in the conference, good enough for fourth place. The Lions slid to 30-16 overall / 12-11 TSC.

CU held off the Lions 7-6 in Friday's rubber game of the series.

Leftfielder Tyler Fisher's solo homer in the bottom of the seventh proved to be the game winner. He hit a rocket high over the scoreboard for his fifth round-tripper of the season. Second baseman James Lilley hit his third HR of the season --  a two-run shot in the fourth.

Nick Jiles, Jason Bush, Michael Wheeler, Austin Morgan and Fisher each had two hits for Cumberland.

Matt Madigan (7-2) picked up the win with three innings of work in relief of starter Anthony Fomasi. Andrew Ward collected his fifth save of the season.

CU and FHU split Thursday's games. The Lions won the opener 3-0 while the Bulldogs run-ruled the visitors 15-3 in the nightcap.
