| Mendenhall faces the death penalty |

A suspected serial killer, charged with a murder in Wilson County, will face the death penalty in Nashville, it was announced Thursday.
Bruce Mendenhall, of Albion, Ill., is suspected in the deaths of Sara Hulbert whose body was found at a Nashville truck stop and Symantha Winters who was found dead at the Pilot Truck Stop on Highway 231 South in Lebanon on June 6, 2007. Winters, whose body was found in a trash can behind the service station, resided in Nashville. The 56-year-old truck driver has pleaded not guilty to the murder charges. Mendenhall was initially arrested at a truck stop in Nashville on July 13. Authorities believe that Mendenhall has committed other murders in Indianapolis, Ind. and in Birmingham, Ala. |
