LEBANON -- Funeral services have been scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, May 8 at the Partlow Funeral Chapel for Mr. Gasser, 68, of Lebanon.

Known as "Mel" to his friends and family, Mr. Gasser was the son of the late Frank and Pauline Gasser and a graduate of Bellevue High School in Nashville.

He died Monday, May 5, 2008 at his residence.

Mr. Gasser attended Vanderbilt University and Middle Tennessee State University and was a life and health insurance broker for over 40 years.

He was employed by Coroon and Black for over 17 years, was president / owner of Inten Benefits Insurance, and was a devoted University of Tennessee football fan.

The family will receive friends from 5 - 9 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until the funeral.

Interment will follow at the Hillsdale Cemetery in Macon County.

Survivors include: his wife of 34 years Hettie Gasser and daughters Melynda and Dana Gasser -- all of Lebanon.

Also surviving are sisters Carolyn Webb of Fairview and Linda (Joe) Bates of Clifton, TX; as well as many devoted nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will include: Todd Johnson, Jamie Ashburn, Wayne Byrne, Ronnie Gasser, Gary Waller and Tommy Mosier.

Honorary pallbearers, John Fox Jr., Ray Swain and Jim Swain.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Partlow Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
