-- Unity Church, 222 Cainsville Road, Lebanon, will have a gospel singing at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 5. Guest singers will be Brother Larry Hagan and Friends. Everyone is welcome. The pastor is Brother Kenneth Bowen.
-- Bluebird and Purple Martin Seminars at Garr’s Rental and Feed, 11620 Lebanon Road, Mt. Juliet, will be Saturday, April 5. Bluebirds will be discussed from 9 until 10 a.m. and Purple Martins will be discussed from 10 until 11 a.m. Guest speaker will be Polly Rooker of the TWRA. There will be a question-and-answer session. The event is free, but seating is limited. RSVP by calling 754-2473.
-- Wilson Amateur Radio Club will meet at 6 p.m., Saturday, April 5 in the K Room in the Phillips Dining Hall at Cumberland University. You do not have to have a license to attend or to join anything. Everyone is welcome. For information, call KB4SFN at 449-3399.
-- Cooperative Clean Up of Sinking Creek, sponsored by the Cumberland River Compact, the City of Lebanon and the Wilson County Stormwater Group Pioneers, will be from 9 a.m. until noon, Saturday, April 5 near the Farmers Market, west of the Town Square. The event is free and open to the public.
-- Lebanon High School Ag. Department Greenhouse will have its annual sale on Monday, April 7 and will continue until all the plants are sold. Prices for the plants are $12 for a flat of flowers, $12 for hanging baskets and the tomatoes and peppers will be ready later in the month at $10 per flat. The flats of flowers or tomatoes contain 36 plants. If interested, call Mr. Howard at LHS at (615) 308-5451 or 444-9610, extension 3284. They will be open from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day of the sale.
-- Wilson County Beekeepers will meet at 7 p.m., Monday, April 7 in the School Exhibits Building at the James E. Ward Agricultural Center, Lebanon. The program will be making a Nuc presented by Ron Gall. For information, call Petra Mitchell at 286-2529.
-- American Red Cross Blood Drive will be at Maple Hill church of Christ from noon until 6 p.m., Monday, April 7. For faster registration, bring your Red Cross Donor Card.
-- Wilson County Democratic Women will meet at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 8 at Quality Inn and Suites (behind Cracker Barrel) in Mt. Juliet. Jack Pratt, independent candidate for Wilson County Assessor of Property, will be the guest speaker.
-- Education Division of Lebanon/Wilson County Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for the Dr. Robert Carver Bone and the Mike Baker Scholarships. The Dr. Robert Carver Bone Scholarship is a one-time $500 scholarship to be matched by Cumberland University to an incoming freshman. The Mike Baker Scholarship is a one-time $1,500 scholarship to be matched by CU to a student returning full time or transferring. Students may request a scholarship application by calling the Chamber at 444-5503 or downloading them fro the Chamber website at www.lebanonwilsontnchamber.org. The deadline for both scholarship applications is Friday, April 11.
-- Wilson County FCE Clubs will host their annual Spring Luncheon Friday, April 11 at the James E. Ward Agricultural Center, Lebanon. Vendors will set up for attendees to make purchases before and after lunch and the program, beginning at 10 a.m. The luncheon will be catered by Jordan’s and the program will be presented by Judy Gillespie on Spring Interior Decorating. Everyone is invited to attend. Tickets are $10. Contact the Extension Office for tickets or information at 444-9584.
-- Lions Clubs of Wilson County, Lebanon, Mt. Juliet and Watertown, will have a luncheon Fundraiser at Outback Steak House at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, April 12. The clubs are working together to raise money for the needy of Wilson County. All proceeds will go for eye exams, glasses and eye surgery for those who cannot afford them. Tickets are $20 each and includes a complete meal and dessert. They can be purchased from any Lions Club member. Outback is at 1125 Franklin Road, Lebanon.
-- Elmcroft of Lebanon is now accepting donations for its yard and bake sale that will be held Saturday, April 12, beginning at 8 a.m. Baked goods and donations may be dropped off at 731 West Main Street between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Call Kelly Compton at 453-5494 for information. All proceeds from the sale will go to the Alzheimer’s Association.

-- Pre-Kindergarten Open House at First Baptist Church Lebanon will be Wednesday, April 16. The Pre-K offers a Christian environment, teachers with college degrees, small classes, field trips, lots of art and music and graduation exercises. Pre-K can enrich a child’s experiences and prepare them for Kindergarten by providing each child with activities for educational, social and physical development.
