RUTLEDGE NO-HITS WATERTOWN

LEBANON -- Watertown and Gordonsville are scheduled to play Wednesday at 4 p.m. in a loser-out game in the District 8A softball tournament being staged at Friendship Christian School.

The Tigerettes dropped to 16-16 on the season after Tuesday’s 1-0 loss to top-seeded Friendship Christian.

Hailey Rutledge threw a complete game no-hitter and struck out 14 as the Lady Commanders improved to 25-7.

Brooke Klinefelter’s RBI double in the sixth produced the only run of the game.

WHS senior Sarah Reeder was tagged with the loss -- scattering six hits and striking out five.

FCS moves on to the finals of the winners bracket against either Trousdale County or Westmoreland Thursday at 4 p.m.
