LEBANON -- Friendship Christian’s baseball team will take a record of 22-6 into their Region 4, 1A tournament opener Monday, May 12 after wrapping up yet another District 8A tournament title. The Commanders of Coach John McNeal reached the 8A finals thanks to a 12-0 victory over Gordonsville High on Tuesday. Right-hander Mitch Miller threw a five-inning two-hitter with five strikeouts and one walk to get the decision. Jeremy Hunley ripped a first inning grand slam for the winners while Jesse Coe smacked a three-run homer in the third. Trousdale County eliminated Gordonsville 3-2 Wednesday, but opted to concede the tournament championship to the Commanders, rather than burn up pitchers. TCHS will go on the road Monday to play the District 7A champion in the region tournament. |
