Widow of Rev. Otis Johnston, Sr.

LEBANON - Funeral services have been scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, April 3 at the Partlow Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Johnston, 88, of Lebanon.

She passed away April 1, 2008 at Cedars Health Care following an extended illness.

The widow of the late Rev. Otis Johnston, Sr., she and her husband served several United Methodist Churches throughout Middle Tennessee from the late 1950s to the mid-1980s.

The daughter of the late Harris and Mamie McIntyre, she was a member of Good Hope United Methodist Church and a homemaker.

Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, April 2 from 2-7 p.m. at the Partlow Funeral Chapel.

Interment will be at the Wilson County Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include: by children Otis Johnston, Jr. (late wife, Gayle Freeman Johnston) of Riddleton; Rodney (Anne Marie) Johnston of Pattersonville, NY; Gary (Debbie) Johnston and Beverly (Jim) Henderson both of Lebanon.

Also surviving is twin sister Louise Martin of Lebanon; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 68 years the Rev. Otis Johnston, Sr. and sister Willie Harris Martin.

Grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.

Partlow Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
