To the Editor:

I enjoyed seeing the two aerial photos in your March 19 issue. I remember when Lebanon looked like that.

However, there were errors in both captions. The building identified as Highland Heights School in the picture on the front page was actually Lebanon High School, which I attended. The building to the right (east) was the LHS Gymnasium, where I played basketball, and the next building, at the north end of North College Street, was Highland Heights Elementary School.

In the picture on page 4 of the Lebanon Woolen Mill, contrary to the caption, North Greenwood Street is indeed there. My Grandparents lived there. It is the South-to-North (left-right) street near the top of the picture, running from West Main Street in the upper left-hand corner, where the large building you see is Caruthers Hall, the home of the Cumberland University Law School, northward to Hill Street, then across the railroad tracks and (unpaved) to the bank of Town Creek. After it crossed the railroad tracks, you can see the pavement turn to the left. This was the entrance to the ax handle factory, which you can see in the upper right-hand corner, between the railroad and the creek.  The only current thing missing is the bridge over the creek.

I like the old pictures. Keep them coming.
