LEBANON -- Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, April 23 at the Sellars Funeral Home, Baddour Parkway, for Mr. Cox, 69, of Lebanon.

Known as "Red" to his family and friends and welder with Floyd & Baxter Amusements for over 50 years, Mr. Cox died April 19, 2008 after an extended illness.

He also worked for Drew Expedition and was member of the Unity Church.

Services were conducted by Brother Kenneth Bowen with interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include wife Hazel Swafford Cox of Lebanon; children Jeannie (George) Willard of Watertown, Amos (Becky) Cox and Terry (Teresa) Cox -- all of Lebanon; step-sons Stan Reed of Murfreesboro and Jeff Reed of Colorado; step-daughter Wanda Rodgers of Florida.

Also surviving are sisters Joyce Reed of Maryland and Gola Cox of Pennsylvania; grandchildren: Amos Cox III, Andy (Allison) Cox, Mitchell Coada -- all of Lebanon, Matthew (Kim) Cox of Watertown and Thea Cox of Lebanon; great-grandchild: Chance Cox and beloved pet Casey.

Active pallbearers: Amos Cox III, Andy Cox, Matthew Cox, Mitchell Coada, Roger Sullins, Joe Hennon, Jimmy Hulse and Stan Reed.

Honorary pallbearers: James Moore, Jimmy and Jim Drew, Martha Hall, Jane Baxter, Ann Floyd, and Kenny Anderson.

Memorial donations in his name are requested for the Jimmy Floyd Center, the Humane Association of Wilson County and the American Cancer Society.

He is preceded in death by parents Johnnie Almon and Lula Mae Terry Cox and brother Louie Cox.

Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon, was in charge of arrangements.
