LEBANON -- Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, April 21 at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home for Mr. Taylor, 70, of Lebanon. Born in Watertown and retired from Ross Gear, Mr. Taylor died April 18, 2008 at the Alvin C. York Veterans Administration Hospital in Murfreesboro. Known as "J.L." to his family and friends, Mr. Taylor was a US Army veteran and member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Services were conducted by Rev. Russ Stephens and Rev. Glenn Denton. Burial was at the Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Survivors include: his wife of over 47 years Frances Lester Taylor; children Kenneth (Patricia) Taylor of Lebanon and Vicky (John) Graham of Brentwood. Also surviving are grandchildren Felicia and Justin Taylor, Jameson and Carly Graham; along with brother William (Becky) Taylor of Watertown. Mr. Taylor is preceded in death by parents Johnny W. and Rosie Lee Tramel Taylor; and sisters Johnnie Ruth Hubbard and Delosise Sassen. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men’s Sunday School Class at Hillcrest Baptist Church and the Decons. Active pallbearers: Mike Wright, Crockett Carr, Nathan Kolbe, Steve Malone, Randy Roberts, Tom Aldridge and Gary Landers. Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. |
