Secure Shred and Wilson Bank & Trust are partnering together to host a free Community Shred Day for Wilson County. The purpose of the Community Shred Day is to give the public an opportunity to properly dispose of personal, confidential documents. Wilson Bank will host the event at five locations where documents can be deposited into locked containers for destruction, or items may be brought to Secure Shred’s shredding center. “This is the fifth year we have partnered with Wilson Bank & Trust to offer this opportunity to the community,” said Rachel Adams, president of Secure Shred. “We receive so many calls from individuals who want to have their personal documents destroyed, and this gives everyone a chance to do that for free. Each year our community event grows with participants. We are so pleased our community members are taking advantage of this opportunity to protect their identity while going ‘Green.’ Having your identity stolen is a terrible ordeal that no one wants to go through. We offer peace of mind that your documents will be destroyed in the secure, appropriate manner.” John C. McDearman III, senior vice president at Wilson Bank and Trust, said, “It also helps that because of the partnership with Secure Shred we can offer it ‘free’ to the community. In these times everyone is looking for a freebie! We welcome everyone to come by and take advantage of the service. We will also be telling everyone about our new Identity Theft Protection with Credit Monitoring. I.D. Theft is no longer something that happens to someone else. It can affect us all,” he said. For more information, call the Secure Shred office during business hours of 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday, at 444-6620 or Wilson Bank and Trust at 444-2265.
