By JENNIFER HORTON A small plane en route from Kentucky to Jackson, Tenn. Thursday afternoon landed safely at Lebanon Airport after the pilot reported having mechanical problems. No one was injured in the incident which was occurred about 1:20 p.m. “It had some mechanical problems,” said Art Dotson, an engineer with the Lebanon Fire Department. “It made a safe crash landing.” Dotson said the landing gear came down but failed after the plane landed. He said the plane was on its way to Jackson from Kentucky but was routed here after experiencing some mechanical difficulties. LFD’s Station 2 stayed on the scene until a tractor at the airport towed the plane to a hangar returning to the fire hall after 4 p.m. There was no information available by press time on the identities of the pilot and the passengers or the type of plane.
