Cedars of Lebanon State Park issues a schedule of upcoming events at the park.

Sunday, July 1st

1:00pm Animal Track Casting. Come down to the Nature Center to learn about and make plaster casts of tracks from some of the local park animals. 

4:00pm Cave Talk & Walk. Hiding under our feet is an underground honeycomb of caves!  Meet at the Nature Center wearing sturdy shoes for a short walk to the entrances of two very different and historically important caves.

Monday, July 2nd

10:00am Garden Garbage Scavenger Hunt

Meet at the nature center for a scavenger hunt in our butterfly garden. Find miscellaneous items scattered about the garden that look out of place and check them off of your scavenger list.

1:00pm Survival Bracelet

Meet at the Nature Center and learn how to make your very own survival bracelet.

Tuesday, July 3rd

10:00am Birds of Prey

Join us at the Nature Center to learn about birds of prey and meet a our screech owl and kestrel

3:00pm Make Your Own Patriotic Pinwheels

Come down to the Camp Store and make pinwheels to celebrate the 4th of July.

8:00pm Ol’-Time Campfire Singin’

Join us at the Nature Center for a quick walk down to the fire ring for some old-time music and lessons on how to play the gut bucket and washboard.  We won’t just be learning about local musical history, we’ll be living it!

Wednesday, July 4th

9:00am Decorate your Ride

Come down to the Camp Store to decorate your bikes for the bike parade! We will be providing balloons and streamers, but feel free to improvise with your own additions as long as they are safe.   

10:00-11:30am Bike Parade

Meet at the Camp Store to start the fourth of July parade around the campsites.  We will then be riding with ranger escort around all the campgrounds.  Under 16 must wear a helmet or you will not be able to participate.

2:00pm Watermelon Eating Contest – Meet at the Nature Center

3:00pm Water Balloon Toss

Meet at the Nature Center and cool off with water balloons.  We will provide the balloons. 

7:00 - 8:00pm Hay Ride

Follow the trail behind the Nature Center to the campfire for a ride through the fields.

Thursday, July 5th

11:00am History Talk & Walk

Come hear the fascinating story of how Cedars of Lebanon became a state park as we walk to some of the old buildings, and learn the history behind them.  Meet at Nature Center.

2:00pm Don’t Lose Your Marbles

Meet at the Nature Center for an old fashioned game of marbles.

8:00pm Creatures Come Out at Night Hike

Meet at the Nature center for a two mile hike on the cedar forest trail to see what creatures are prowling around at sunset.

Friday July 6th

1:00pm Birds and Woodpeckers

Meet at the Nature Center and learn about woodpeckers and then stay cool by watching a bird video in our theater.

3:00pm Where are You???

Meet at the Nature Center to learn how to make and read topographical maps.

7:30pm Kick Ball

Meet at the baseball field for a fun evening game of kickball.

Junior Ranger Camp, July 23-27, Ages 8-12

Join us for our Junior Ranger Camp where kids will get exposed to the local environment, go on hikes and make crafts. At the end of the week there will be a ceremony for the new Junior Rangers!
