WCHS student competes for Miss Jr. Teen Nashville
Thursday, September 13, 2012

Briana Barnes, a Wilson Central High School student, was recently selected to participate in the 2012 Miss Teen Nashville competition that will take place on Sunday, Sept. 23.

Briana learned of her acceptance into this year’s competition when the judges announced their selections after reviewing hundreds of applications and going through an interview session which took place in Nashville on Aug. 29.

Briana will be competing in the Miss Jr. Teen division, one of the four divisions that have young ladies 7 to 19 competing in modeling routines, which include casual wear and a formal wear. Most important, Briana will display her personality and interviewing skills during her interviews with this year’s Nashville judging panel. Personality and character are the number one aspects that each contestant is judged on during all phases of competition.

Briana will be competing for her share of thousands of dollars in prizes and scholarships and specialty gifts. Should she win the title she will represent Nashville and the surrounding counties in the National Competition that will take place in Orlando, Fla., where more than $30,000 in prizes and awards will be presented to the winners, and each state winner enjoys this expense paid trip of five nights and six days.

Community businesses, organizations and private individuals will assist Briana in participating in this year’s competition by becoming an official sponsor to her. Through sponsorship, each contestant receives all the necessary training, rehearsals, and financial support which will allow Briana to become a very confident and well-prepared contestant in this year’s competition, a spokesperson said.

Sponsorship also brings many opportunities for your business such as free advertising, media coverage, and free ad space on her social media pages and website, the spokesperson said, adding, not to mention the opportunity to have Briana represent your business.

Some of her local sponsors already involved are Get My Trash, Becky’s Beautiful Bows, The Back Porch Café, and local Avon representative Dorothy Decker.

Any business, organization, or private individual who may be interested in becoming a sponsor to Briana may contact the Miss Teen Nashville coordinator at 1-800-279-0976 or her mom at 598-1105.
