Lebanon man arrested on drug charges

A Lebanon man was arrested Friday, Sept. 21 on drug and weapon charges after Lebanon Police officers searched a public housing unit in Inman Court.

Officer Dana Sandefur, the officer assigned to work the Federal Housing Units in Lebanon, responded to 903 Inman Ct along with Housing personnel to investigate a complaint that Omar Weir, 27,  of 1407 Inman Court, was living in that unit but was not on the lease.

The leaseholder Chaunethia Cason, gave Sandefur permission to enter the residence and he reportedly saw marijuana on the coffee table. When asked, Cason reportdly told Sandefur that Weir was in the bedroom and also reportedly gave Sandefur permission to search the residence.

The search revealed several bags of what is believed to be marijuana, one bag of what is believed to be cocaine, digital scales, cash and a loaded 9mm handfun. Lebanon Police Chief Scott Bowen said the handgun had been reported stolen in Lebanon earlier this year.

All items were seized and Cason could be evicted as a result of the narcotics being found in the unit.

Weir was arrested and charged with Possession of schedule II with intent to sell, possession of schedule VI with intent to sell, unlawful possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon while in commission of a felony and possession of drug paraphernalia and theft of property. He is in custory at the Wilson County Jail on $30,000 bond.
