It’s never been easier – or more flavorful – to support your community in a number of ways at the same time than during Taste of Wilson County’s Restaurant Week. From Oct. 19-26, Wilson County is celebrating local eateries, caterers and food vendors by offering special discount coupons, all of which can be found inside Oct. 17, 2012’s edition of The Wilson Post.Restaurant Week is an initiative of Taste of Wilson County, an annual event that benefits the Lebanon/Wilson County Chamber of Commerce’s education programs, including Wilson Books from Birth, TN Scholars, teacher grants and student scholarships. During Restaurant Week, participating restaurants will be featuring offers and bargains that apply to everything from fast food to fine dining. This year’s “Taste” event begins at 5 p.m. on Thursday and takes place on the west lawn of Wilson Bank & Trust’s Main Office in Lebanon. Guests will have the opportunity to sample a variety of great local food; meet with some of the area's best chefs; and shop with non-food marketplace vendors. New to this year’s event is a celebrity grill-off among the county’s mayors, and activities for children are provided as well. “Combining great company, a great atmosphere and great food always makes for a fun evening, and the chance to help out our local businesses and support local education at the same time makes this a really unique event,” Wilson County Mayor Randall Hutto said. “It’s another good chance to showcase the generous spirit of the people of our county.” Tickets for “Taste of Wilson County” can be purchased at all WB&T locations in WilsonCounty, and at the Lebanon Chamber of Commerce. Tickets are $15 in advance, and $20 on the day of the event. More information about “Taste of Wilson County” is available at www.tasteofwilsoncounty.com. |
