Commission to consider wheel tax hike for new LHS |

By JENNIFER HORTON and CONNIE ESH The Wilson Post A resolution calling for an increase in the wheel tax by$37.50 to fund a new Lebanon High School will be placed in the packet to be voted on by Wilson County Commission at the Monday, July 20 regular meeting. The resolution, sponsored by District 25 Commissioner Randy Hall, would provide for the construction and furnishing of the long-discussed replacement high school. The wheel tax is currently $25 and with the proposed increase, the figure would rise to $62.50 per automobile. |

Equipment theft case looks at deal |

By Josh Nelson Special to The Wilson Post Attorneys are working to reach a deal in the case of William Boykin and Joshua Ricketts, both of Lebanon, who are accused of stealing heavy equipment from construction sites in the Gallatin area last year. Both were present in the courtroom of Sumner County Criminal Court Friday, but their attorneys were unable to hammer out a deal with prosecutors. |

Ashe told a Lebanon civic group recently that “places of worship” are likely the “next soft targets” for strikes of violence. |
