FORMER WATERTOWN ALDERMAN
WATERTOWN – Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, April 3 at the Hunter Funeral Home for Mr. Robertson, 64, of Watertown.
A member of the Watertown City Council for over 20 years and a longtime employee of the U.S. Postal Service, Mr. Robertson died Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Nashville’s Vanderbilt Medical Center.
Known as "Rollie" to his friends and a veteran of the US Navy, Mr. Robertson was a member of the Watertown Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years and served as superintendent of the Water Plant for five years.
A graduate of Watertown High School, a deacon at the Dry Creek Baptist Church and a longtime Sunday School teach at Immanuel Baptist Church in Lebanon, Mr. Robertson found time to coach boys and girls softball for 10 years.
The family will receive friends Thursday until 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until the funeral. Services will be conducted by Rev. Donald Owens. Burial will follow at the Williams Family Cemetery.
Survivors include: wife Debbie Robertson and children Jamey (Marsha) Robertson of Watertown, Michelle (Phillip) Tomlinson of Carthage and Suzanne Buerkette of Crescent Springs, Ky.
Also surviving are grandchildren Erika White, Tiffany and Preston Tomlinson and Michael Buerkette; great grandchildren Alyssa and Luke White; sisters Shirley (Steve) Carlile and Lorea (Howell) Roberts – all of Watertown.
He is preceded in death by parents Mitchell and Lorene Robertson; first wife Margaret Hobbs Robertson and brother Terry Robertson.
Active pallbearers: Randall Keith, Mike Jennings, John Jewell, Jimbo Robertson, James Stephens, Kenny Edge, Fred Brockette and Jimmy Kimbell. Honorary: U.S. Postal Service employees and members of the Dry Creek Baptist Church.
