MT. JULIET – Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, April 16 at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet for Ms. Thornton, 89, of Mt. Juliet. A nurse for 32 years and a US Army veteran of World War II, she passed away April 14, 2009.

Services were conducted by Brother Jerry Smith. Interment followed the services at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens

Survivors include: son Clint Thornton; sister Lillian B. Conditt; grandchildren Clinton Lee Thornton and Robert Gene Thornton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Ms. Thornton is preceded in death by her husband Clinton O. Thornton; parents William Carroll and Martha Byers Brown; grandson Jeffery Allen Thornton and granddaughter Jennifer Gail Thornton.

Active pallbearers included: David Page, Larry Warren, David Hawkins, Jared Patterson, Jonathan Thompson and Ed Ashley.
