LEBANON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Dean Brindley Skeen are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 22 at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Medlin officiating. Interment will follow at the Wilson County Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Skeen, age 83 of Lebanon, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2009, at the University Medical Center in Lebanon.

Visitation Tuesday 2-8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ligon & Bobo.

Born November 25, 1925, in Putnam County, she was the daughter of the late John B. and Mary Jane Petty Brindley. She was a member of the Saulsbury Baptist Church, a homemaker, and had served as Registrar at Large of the Wilson County Election Commission.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Gordon Skeen Sr. in 1992; sisters Sue Brindley Carr and Blanche Brindley Huff; and brothers Joe, Ray, and John Brindley.

She is survived by sons John Gordon (Josephine) Skeen Jr. and Bruce Neil Skeen all of Lebanon; grandchildren Sheila Skeen (David) Mobley, Mary Neil Skeen (Trey) Estes, Paul Gordon Skeen and Mark Evan (Courtney) Skeen; great grandchildren Evan Blake Ferguson, Martin David Mobley, Mary Caroline Ferguson, John Daniel Mobley, Brady Dean Estes, Mason Kent Mobley, Jackson Pfeiffer Skeen, Benjamin Donald Estes and Carter Evans Skeen.

Honorary pallbearers: Campbell Brandon, Tommy Skeen, Allen Skeen, Douglas Helton, Joe Winfree, Larry Tomlinson, Harlan Poston, Terry Ashe, David Allen, Raymond Lasater, Sam Sherrill and Don Lancaster.

Active pallbearers: Billy Berry, David Earl Bates, David Mobley, Trey Estes, Charles Howard Skeen and Tony Davis.
