LEBANON -- Graveside funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 28 at Wilson County Memorial Gardens for Mr. Chapman, 84, of Lebanon. Retired from the US Navy at the rank of Chief Petty Officer and a World War II veteran, Mr. Chapman died May 25, 2009.
"Daddy Bill" was to his children and grandchildren and to all who knew him first and foremost a "giver". He will be missed by all who knew him.
Visitation at Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon, Wednesday from 5-8 p.m.
Survivors include son Wayne Chapman; step-sons Gary Clemmons and Rusty Waller; step-daughters Edith McKensie and Becky LeMay; brother Fred Chapman; sisters Martha Ayers and Anne Hart; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Members of the Fleet Reserve Association of Middle Tennessee will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Memorial donations should be directed to the American Heart Association (1818 Patterson Street, Nashville 37203). He is preceded in death by wife Estelle Chapman; parents Archie Pruitt Chapman and Vivian Chapman; daughter Lori Sloan, and step-son James Clemmons.
