WATERTOWN – Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, June 11 at the Hunter Funeral Home for Mr. Smith, 85, of Lebanon.

Born in Gladeville to the late Robert Festus Smith and Margaret Mathis Smith, he died June 9, 2009 at the University Medical Center.

Mr. Smith was retired after 30 years at the Bland Casket Company. He also worked for many years at the Lebanon Food Center. Burial was at the Caraway Cemetery.

Survivors include: Dionyius Lavanta Smith, Kamala Kiyoshe Smith, Mia Thyalisa (Mark) Estes, Mark Anthony Devlyn Estes, Brenda Joyce Reed, Doris Ann (Fred) Corley, Roger Dale (Pam) Smith and Phyllis Lynn Clemmons – all of Lebanon. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Elizabeth Lucille Smith, grandson Leslie Shannon Reed, three sisters and three brothers.

Family and friends served as active pallbearers.

Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
