WATERTOWN – Funeral services have been scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, June 13 at the Hunter Funeral Home for Mrs. James, 95, formerly of Watertown. A retired bookkeeper from Davis Cabinet Company, she died Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Cedars Health Care in Lebanon. Born in Wilson County and a graduate of Nashville’s Cohn High School, she was a member of the Martha Baptist Church. Mrs. James was the daughter of the late Shirley and Myrtle Martin McKnight. The family will receive friends Friday between the hours of 3-8 p.m. and Saturday prior to the funeral at Hunter Funeral Home. Services will be conducted by Rev. Sam Parks. Burial will be at the Jennings Cemetery. Survivors include: daughters Jeannie Cowan of Watertown and Juanita (Addison) McGarrity of Lilburn, GA. Also surviving are grandchildren Alicia (Paul) Allen of Prospect, Rhonda (Tim) Allison and Kenneth (Gwenda Graham) Conner – all of Mt. Juliet, Jerry Lee (Jennifer) Cowan Jr. of Maryville, Leigh Cowan of Watertown, Scott (Samantha) McGarrity of Riverview, FL and Cheryl (Matt) Wilson of Greer, SC; as well as several great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband Thomas E. James, who died in 1962; daughter Della Bee Beets and grandson David Hopper.
