LEBANON -- Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, June 23 at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home for Mr. Ferrell, 75, of Lebanon. Known as "Rooster" to his family and friends, he died June 20, 2009 at home.

Born in Wilson County, he was the son of the late William Gallatin and Annie Lula Eagan Ferrell. He was a US Army veteran (Korean War) and was a member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Ferrell was a farmer and retired from Dupont with 27-years service.

Services were conducted by Rev. Terry Fesler. Interment followed at the Wilson County Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include: his wife of 56 years Joan Hall Ferrell; sons Tony (Cheryl) Ferrell, Todd (Barbara) Ferrell and Tim (Liz) Ferrell; grandchildren Holly Stormer of Knoxville, Carolyn Gore and Heather Ferrell -- both of Nashville, Michael Ferrell of Murfreesboro and Will Ferrell of Lebanon; step grandchildren Jennifer Haggard of Watertown and Cissy Rich of Alexandria; seven great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Ferrell and Nell Brown; and two brothers, James Ferrell and Burton Ferrell.

Active pallbearers: Tommy Hall, Ronnie Ferrell, Bill Ferrell, Mark Wright, Jamie Ferrell and Greg Hemontolor.
